The Carolinas Geographic Rugby Union has announced the Summer 2016 7s Qualifying dates and process for clubs aiming to reach the USA Rugby Club 7s National Championships. For clubs in the CGU, the qualifying process starts at the Queen City Sevens on June 25th at the Matthews Sportsplex in Matthews, NC. The Queen City Sevens is hosting both a men’s and women’s qualifying brackets with the results from the qualifying brackets being used for seeding for the CGU Championship held on July 9th. The location and venue for the CGU Championships should be announced shortly.

The Top 2 teams from the men’s and women’s brackets at the CGU Championship move onto the NCR2 Championship to be hosted by the CGU on July 23rd. The winning clubs from the NCR2 qualifier move onto the USA Rugby Club 7s National Championships on August 13-14 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Colorado. The Charlotte RFC represented the CGU and NCR2 at the 2015 USA Rugby Club 7s National Championships.
