CAROLINAS – With a State of Emergency being declared in North and South Carolina due to the impending impact from Hurricane Matthew, the Carolinas Geographic Rugby Union has cancelled matches for this coming weekend in areas that are going to be at the highest risk. Currently a Category 4 Hurricane, Matthew is pounding Haiti and is expected to reach Florida early morning on Friday. The storm is expected to cross over the bulk of South Carolina early on Saturday then working a path through North Carolina. Matches in the Western parts of the Carolinas are going to be handled on a case by case basis based on their field conditions and weather.  Matches that are cancelled this weekend are expected to be rescheduled for the CGRU makeup weekend on November 19th.
